My friend Chloe came to visit me a couple of weeks ago, and we spent two days exploring Lagos, a coastal town west of Faro known for its stunning pocket beaches carved into the rugged coastline, with views of dramatic, towering rock formations jutting out of the azure waters.

Here I introduce a personal reading challenge I’ll be working on for the next two years and reflect on my path towards becoming a scientist.

This post is more of a side-quest into my love for literature and what I’ll be reading while I travel through Europe rather than a traditional update.

I’ve been in class for five weeks now, and I figured it was time to update everyone on how my master’s program is going!

It's been two weeks since I left Canada to start an international masters degree in Europe. Here's a little update on my new home, exploring Faro, and my first week of class - with lots of photos!

Here's an update on my International Masters degree (and more importantly, my tentative schedule - including which countries I will be living in each semester!).

Four short months ago, I received my offer of acceptance from the IMBRSea Masters program. As many of my friends and family members know, I had been planning on applying to this program for the last year and a half and had based many of my life decisions around the possibility that I would be accepted (and be moving to Europe for two years). These decisions varied from minuscule (should I really buy another mug if I’m just going to pack it away in my parent's basement soon?) to very large (deciding to move back in with my dad for a year to save money).
